Audi RS5

October 20th, 2011

Enclosed Carriers: Auto Shipping and TransportAudi’s 2011 RS5 has already been released, however, automakers are not satisfied with the original version released. Changes have been introduced and Audi will be re-releasing the Audi RS5 in 2012 with new and improved features. Some changes that have been made include smaller rear and front headlights, daytime headlights, and diagonally opposing shock absorbers. Intriguing additions that can be added are inlays of dark, stainless steel mesh, shiny black piano, or brushed aluminum interior finish.

The German automaker approached the improvements to the Audi RS5 in a way that re-directs attention back into the direction of the company and what they are able to improve upon. Although the improvements are small in comparison to a completely new and redesigned model, the changes are significant in regards to wanting to improve their product for consumers. Car technology is constantly evolving and while some improvements are flashy and exciting, others improve the ways in which vehicles are produced to make the owner safer and happier with the seamless integration with technology and their vehicle.

New Headlights Created by BMW

September 20th, 2011

BMW has invented a new type of headlight to replace the LED headlight – laser headlights.

BMW was one of the first automakers with stylized headlights.BMW

Headlights Used Today

  • Tungsten Halogen

Tungsten Halogen gives off a warm, yellow hue in color.

  • HID (Xenon)

HID headlights have been in production since 1991 and have commonly been used in higher end vehicles. They give off a cool blue hue in color.

  • LED (Light-Emitting Diodes)

LED technology began in 2004 in regards to automobiles. The first car factory to install this technology was in the Lexus LS in 2007 for the 2008 model. LED lights are now used in more than automobile headlights – ranging from brake lamps and turn signals to parking lamps. LED gives off a cool light with less blue than HID.

BMW has come up with new technology that will further the precision in automobile headlights.

  • Laser headlights are more powerful and efficient than their LED counterpoint.  The laser headlight is safer than LED lights because it is filtered through a florescent phosphor material, which alters the color from blue to white.

The illumination that comes from the headlight is indirect and creates a pure, white light, which is pleasant and easy on the eyes.

Lasers give off a coherent beam, removing the necessity to have different light configurations for high beam, side illumination and forward illumination.

How will this affect you?

This will not only likely change car designs, but will also increase the cost of vehicles that will use this new technology in their headlights.

If you find that you need your new vehicle with laser headlights or any luxury car transported – we recommend an enclosed carrier. Call 877.668.3227 to get an instant quote.
