What do I need to do to prepare my vehicle for transportation?

There are some basic guidelines to remember when preparing your vehicle for transport. The carriers affiliated with DirectConnect are true professionals, but there are some simple steps you can take to ensure your vehicle is fully protected during transit.

1. Do not store personal items in your vehicle for transit. DirectConnect or its carriers will not be held responsible for damage to any personal items stored in a vehicle during transport. Personal items can also cause obstructed views for the transporter.

2. No more than 1/4 tank of gas. Less fuel, less weight, safer shipment.

3. Heading to colder temperatures? Remember antifreeze. If your vehicle is being transported from a warm climate to a colder one, be sure to winterize the vehicle with antifreeze. Neither DirectConnect nor its carriers are responsible for damage caused from lack of antifreeze.

4. Secure all loose items in the vehicle. If you have anything in the vehicle, make sure it is properly stowed and/or secured. Once again, DirectConnect and its carriers are not responsible for damage to these items or damage to the vehicle, caused by loose items.

Is my car insured?

Your vehicle is insured for the Blue Book value the entire time it is on the truck. Occurences not covered are clearly listed on your shipping order and on the bill of lading upon which your car is shippedd. A condition report is completed upon pick-up of your vehicle and given to the person on the receiving end to check over. If there is any damage, then it must be made at this time, otherwise no claim will be valid.
